Thomas Was Alone is a game by Mike Bithell. I would say that it fallows the classic plat former but that would not be entirely correct. It is a plat former yes at least I would classify it as one. At about 3 hours of game play for one play through, and with the most interesting story I have seen in a vary long time. Not just in plot either, in the method of telling.
The game play changes as you advance, in vary interesting ways. There were several times I thought I knew what was coming next, and each time I was wrong. I loved that about the game. In every aspect I really did not know what was coming, from game play to story. The controls are perfect, the level design superb, and the characters interesting. This is amazing, as the game has no more graphics then colored rectangles.
There are vary few bad things to say about the game. And perhaps only one. The length. I finished the game feeling fulfilled, but wanting more. The only addition I would make if it were up to me would be a level editor. I would make levels all day long if I could. Just to see what I could do and what things would be possible.
